About Annika
Born and raised in Chicago, Annika’s passion for filmmaking began with a Fisher Price Kodak camera and a memorable visit to the set of Poltergeist III.
Highlighting unassuming characters, Annika uses her 20 years of production experience to strengthen and propel storytelling in documentary and narrative projects.
Her first documentary feature, The Barkley Marathons: The Race That Eats Its Young, delved into a secretive cult-like event and showed the dark humor and humanity of its remarkable participants. She co-directed and co-produced the award-winning film which ran on Netflix worldwide for 3 years.
